Woodland Spirits

Two bird-like forms, detailed with sharp beaks and textured feathers, emerge from a   textured background of layered wooden planks and stitched elements.  The organic forms are interwoven into a surreal and abstract geometric structure giving the piece a tactile, almost sculptural quality.  The feathers and scales of the creatures creates a compelling dialogue between nature’s rawness and human intervention. The composition evokes an idea of mythical woodland beings that inhabit a world built from nature’s raw materials.
