A gifted artist, Nazmul Haque Bappy is known for his mastery of Chinese painting and storytelling through art. Bappy’s journey began with a strong foundation in Oriental art, he later deepened his expertise in Chinese painting through a prestigious, fully funded scholarship from the Chinese government. His work beautifully blends tradition with contemporary creativity, making a lasting impact in the world of visual and performing arts.
Bappy’s paintings are vivid reflection of his deep connection to nature’s raw beauty. While rooted in the traditional Oriental art style of Bangladesh, he constantly experiments with new techniques and media, integrating modern aesthetics into his work. With a fluidity that flows between watercolour, acrylic, oil, Chinese ink, and mixed media, Bappy constantly pushes the boundaries of traditional oriental art, offering viewers a harmonious blend of classical and contemporary elements.
A prolific exhibitor and devoted educator, Bappy’s journey spans numerous solo and group exhibitions across both local and international stages. His passion for sharing knowledge has taken him around the globe, where he has conducted workshops that bridge cultures, including a Chinese painting workshop at the esteemed Paul Mascart School of Painting in France.
Beyond visual arts, he has made a significant impact as a playwright and director. Since his debut TV play in 2014, he has written and directed numerous acclaimed productions. Balancing his roles as a painter, director, and Assistant Professor, Bappy continues to explore new horizons, including his upcoming venture into film-making.
