A hyper-realistic watercolour portrait of a man reading a book, this piece took 181 hours to complete. The painting captures the idea of quietly hiding away inside a novel, shutting out the chaos of the world. The reason for painting in this way is also related to escapism, as focusing on the details of anatomy helps the artist escape from the external chaos and wind down, allowing her to immerse herself in my own thoughts.
